  • The strain energy response to the in-plane forces are very low.
  • The strain energy response to torque around the vertical axis is not the same for the RH and LH pedal forces. This is because the reaction force of the chain is close to in-line with the RH pedal, so there is little torque created. The LH pedal is far away from the chain-line, so a significant torque is created.
  • The strain energy response to torque around the horizontal axis parallel to the chain-line is the most significant.
