The power transmission to and from frame represents all the energy that goes in and out of the frame as is flexes during the pedal cycle.  This energy represents about 1% of total energy output for each pedal cycle.   However, all of this energy is recovered as described on the "Frame Efficiency" page.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The power output graph below shows the power output with a rigid frame (in blue) and with the FEA modeled steel frame (in red).  In fact you can't really see the curve for the rigid frame because the steel frame curve is so close.  The purple curve below represents the power coming in and out of the frame.
